I would assume that they allow this so that once some of these people that pirate their software get better and better, they may end up in a studio with a copy or freelancing with a licensed version. Personally I think that they do this on purpose (or at least never bothered to use a far more effective means of security), this is my reasoning. They also know that a very large percentage of their user base are teens on the internet looking to trying something different.
